I found the solution.
This solution is for the Android app (but I'm assuming the iOS app works similarly).
Remove your account from Microsoft Authenticator;
Disable or remove any screen locks from your phone (patterns, PIN, fingerprints, face recognition);
--> You know that thing you need to do in order to unlock your phone after turning the screen on? Remove that in
the settings of your phone (not the app).
Add your account again in Microsoft Authenticator.
--> NOTE: Make sure to tap "Enable 2-factor verification" and not "Enable phone sign-in"!
The reason you have to remove disable or remove your screen locks is because if you have any of them turned on, Microsoft Authenticator will not give you the option of enabling 2-factor-verification. As for what idiot thought that was a good idea, I have no clue, but I resent them for the headache they caused me.
Hope this works!
I can´t do that, because that will LOCK many other accounts that are autofill by my samsung biometrics... Is there any workaround to get 6 digits instead of 8 on the microsoft authenticator app?
To disable the authentication method for passwordless phone sign-in, complete the following steps:
Sign in to the Azure portal with a global administrator account.
Search for and select Azure Active Directory, then browse to Security > Authentication methods > Authentication method policy (Preview)
Under Passwordless phone sign-in, choose the following options:
Enable - Yes or No (Select No to disable)
Target - All users or Select users
To apply the new policy, select Save.
Also, please elaborate what exactly you meant by 'use as a third code authenticator'. I believed you meant, use it as a third party authenticator app. Do correct me if I am wrong.
Please what is Azure portal?? I can't remove this feature and I'm frustrated and want to cryyy :( :( :(
