How to create a Compute Instance

Hello Folks,

I'm currently using a free trial version of Azure.

When creating a compute instance in machine learning studio, I cannot select a virtual machine.
All virtual machine names in the selection field are inactive.

How are these virtual machines activated?

I am creating a virtual machine "Standard_D2s_v3".
And I interpret this capture as showing that there are two available quarters for "Standard DSv3 Family vCPUs".If so, why is the virtual machine "Standard_D2s_v3" inactive?

I'm sorry for my poor English.
I very appreciate any help or direction. Thank you.

Regards,
Koki

@Koki-2318 I think there could be two reasons here for this behaviour.

  1. The second screen shot could be showing the availability in a different region than your Azure ML workspace region. Please verify if this is the case.

  2. The Azure ML resource under the free tier has a special exception with regards to the compute that can be used. This is limited based on the available cores and the subscription offering. This is documented here with more details. If this is the case you can raise a quota increase and our team will evaluate the feasibility based on your subscription offering.

If the above two cases do not resolve you can convert to a pay as you go subscription and use the required compute size with your Azure ML experiments. Thanks!!

Hello romungi-MSFT!

It's the same as the ML workspace region.
The region is japaneast.

If I have a free subscription and the region is japaneast, can I create a compute instance?
Sorry to trouble you, but could you tell me how to do it?
The purpose is just to try AutoML from ML Studio.

Thank you!

@Koki-2318 You can create a compute instance if you have sufficient quota to do so on free account. The steps to do this from studio are mentioned here.

I don't understand this.
Looking at the restrictions document for the free trial that you gave me, it seems that there is no problem.

The second screen shot is a capture showing information about subscription.
And this screenshot shows the information in the ML workspace. All are N/A.

Is this situation strange?

I created a free trial account and created one ML workspace and one virtual machine "Standard_D2s_v3". Others are not doing anything.

What else do I need to create a computer instance?
