how create group in activedirectory and add it to sharepoint site

hi

i have different projects with different users and permissions

i want to create Separate groups in active directory and then add them to my sharepoint site

how can i do it

pls help me

Active directory groups should be of type "Security Group" to be added to SP.

You don't need to create separate SP Group if you have already created AD Group. All you need to do is add that AD Group as how you add a normal user.

For e.g. If you got a AD group called DOMAIN\Marketing-SharePoint, all you need to do is add that add that add group by going to Site Actions > site permission > grant permission and add that

Hello @Leilivazietan-9959 ,

Please follow steps to add a AD group to SharePoint Online site.

1. Create a AD group

  • Sign in Azure Active Directory admin center as SharePoint admin or Global admin

  • Go to Azure Active Directory tab, and select Groups under the Manage section.

  • Click + New group button, you could choice Security or Microsoft 365 in the Group type dropdown box.

  • Create

2. Add AD group to SharePoint Online Site

  • Sign in SharePoint site as SharePoint admin

  • Click Site permissions under the Settings menu

  • On the Permissions panel, click Advanced permissions settings

  • Go to the Site Permissions page, click Grant Permissions under PERMISSIONS tab, and then enter name or email address of the AD group.
