outlook not moving whole conversation to public folder

outlook 2016 correctly moves a conversation (send + received message) to different folder in the same user mailbox. But when I move the same conversation to a public folder, only the received message is being moved. The send message, stays in send.

Is there a setting / solution to keep this behaving the same (every where). Thus always move the conversation?

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

It could be just the view that keeps showing the sent message in the sent items folders with the received messages in the same user mailbox.

In any case, I would like to have the message from the sent items folder moved also. I think this should be the default behaviour as one expects this from the popup message with the confirmation of moving the conversation. Moving the received messages only, is moving half a conversation.

Hi @FIXMYLIVEACCOUNTFINALLYAFTER5MONTH-0539,

Yes, you are right. Just as you said, it is a default behaviour that you could not see the sent message in Conversions view after moving the received messages to Public folder.

The Public folder is a shared path of the Public folder mailbox. When moving the received email messages to the Public folder, the sent emails and the moved emails are not in the same mailbox, so the conversation view could not show all the emails. As I know, Outlook has not supported the feature of automatically moving emails in the same conversation in different folders together to Public folders. Therefore, you need to manually move the messages of the same conversation in your Sent Items folder to the Public folder to display the complete conversation.

If you still have a demand to add this function to Outlook for Windows, you could create a thread in User voice, then other users will could vote on it for you, Microsoft may notice it and add it in the later version.

Yes sorry, they blocked my account again. I guess microsoft does not want to be reminded about bad/no support they are giving.

I have indeed posted the request, although to me this looks more like a bug. Because by the behaviour of course should be the same everywhere.

Do you have an idea if this can be solved by some outlook plugin/scripting. I really like to have this, maybe I could ask some 'outlook developer' to make this.

Hi @FIXMYLIVEACCOUNTFINALLYAFTER5MONTH-0539,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the trouble of your account.
As I know, the public folder feature we discussed above might be by design and seems we are not able to change that. If would try some develop methods, you can add some develop-related tags to this thread and see if we could get some develop-related information from other partners who read the forums regularly. Thanks for your understanding and hope your question will be resolved soon.
