RDP relative mouse movement support Urgently needed

I'm in real need of relative mouse movement support over RDP.

No, it's not for first person shooter games.

It is for production. My Architectural Cad software uses relative mouse movement to navigate around the model. When entering the walk-through mode, the viewpoint is not controllable. It moves so very fast in many directions. I also have 3D viz software with the same issue.

Also, I have dedicated machines to do production, but when doing a presentation in the conference room , I need to use RDP to connect to the more powerful machine.

Also, now working from home because of Covid-19, I really need a solution. People have suggested using 3rd party apps such as Terecredi and Parsec. I would rather not.

I think Microsoft should provide an option for Relative Mouse support for RDP. It could be a toggle setting if that is necessary.

I hope someone from Microsoft replies and takes this request seriously. RDP usage has grown by a huge amount and I hope you are up to the task of meeting our evolving needs.

Many thanks,
JP

    Hi,
Please note remote desktop only supports sending / using absolute input modes instead of relative mode. When an application that uses relative modes tries to interpret the Remote desktop mouse input - the result is that you will get very large vectors.

But per searching, someone is investigating on this behavior and shared some workarounds to improve RDP's support on relative mouse movement.

Details could be found in below link:

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

    Thanks,
    Jenny
