POP3 export to Gmail when my O365 account has 2FA on

I'm trying to export e-mails from Outlook to Gmail with POP3, which used to work fine until today since my organization enabled two-factor authentication for O365. The POP3 sync settings on Gmail's end only have a field for the password, and when I type in my password (correctly), it doesn't accept it anymore. Is it possible to export e-mails using POP3 while O365 has 2FA enabled?

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

I have the same issue, and I'm guessing this isn't going to work until Google updates how Gmail works with this. And I'm guessing that's not going to be straightforward because the MFA challenge will go to the Google server making the POP3 authentication request, and even if they could relay the challenge to you and you get it authenticated once, I'm not sure it would work the next time the Google server tries to check via POP3.

Hi @VirtanenPietari-8896,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Do you mean that you are trying to export your email messages in your O365 email account to the Gmail account in Outlook desktop client? If so, how did you achieve that? Via Outlook import/export feature like below or via some other ways?
59385-10-50-07.png

As I know, the 2FA feature you mentioned above usually would have effects on the authentication of your email account when logging in. But the import/export feature is a client-based feature, even if your email account is offline, we could also successfully export mailbox items to local .pst files. So, there might be some other details of this issue we have missed. Are there any error prompts when the issue occurs? Can the export feature work fine if you tried it with other email accounts in Outlook?

If all I mentioned above is not your case, please try to provide me with more issue-related information for further research.

Any updates, just feel free to post back.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not trying to use the export feature in Outlook, I'm trying to use the POP3 and SMTP protocols to synchronize my Outlook e-mail to my Gmail. This is what my sync email settings on Outlook are:

sync%20email.png

And this is the error I'm getting on Gmail:

sync%20email%202.png

I have checked my username and password and I'm certain I'm typing them correctly, the problem is most likely that the 2FA doesn't let me authenticate it with just the password because it used to work when I did this, it just stopped working yesterday when 2FA was enabled.

I have the same issue. I used to forward my Office 365 mails to my Gmail. Gmail used to access my Office 365 mail via POP/IMAP mail, but once my organization activated the 2F authenticator, Gmail can No longer access my Office 365 mail. So it's not a Gmail issue, it's actually an Office issue that does not gives me a way for my gmail to have the authentication it needs to access the mail. .

Just leaving this comment here, in case anyone comes up with a solution.

I am having the same problem.

I guess this feature has not come to office 365 yet.
In the link below, it is explained how to do this for the classic microsoft e-mail service.
