Hi!

I posted the following question in the consumer community...

https://answers.microsoft.com/sv-se/windows/forum/all/file-history-frequency/22007196-d5ef-433f-ab70-d3dd088c0ffd?auth=1

Can it actually be a bug that is causing the erratic behaviour of the File History scheduling?

It will check for changes every one hours and if there wasn't any change, it won't do anything and if there is a change, it will take action. In case this is not working this way, you may send a report through Feedback Hub app.

    Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience brought to you. I've never used File History before. But I searched online and found lots of customers complaining about this feature.

Please report this issue to our engineering teams using Feedback Hub. Before the issue is resolved, you can choose third party products to backup. Please check this link, Windows 10 File Backup, Not Working for the Past Year? With no error message?

Reliability of Windows backup is not good. With each update of Windows 10, this is creating more problem.

Please note: The mentioned product is owned and operated by a third party. Microsoft has no control regarding to the product's performance and reliability.

Feedback is delivered now. Strange though if Microsoft don't know about this issue. File History has been around for quite a while now...

One other thing, on the same subject... Before (don't know exactly when this may have changed), open .pst files were excluded from the backup process. This don't seem to be the case anymore. Is it suddenly safe to copy these kind of files in "running mode", without corruption?

One more observation... I have set File History to keep copies for 1 month. This is not working as expected though. No files are deleted at all (after one month has passed). Does anyone have an idea why?
