Hi,

Could you please explain your setup little bit like :

  1. What is the Operating System of your VM ?

  2. whether your VM is domain joined or standalone VM?

  3. Where you have configured this forwarder ?

  4. is that port no 53 is allowed between your VM and DNS server ?

  5. What kind of DNS server you are using MS DNS or some DNS appliance ?

Also I could see another blog post where same type of issue was discussed. So mentioning the link below. You can check those answers as well.

Hi,
Set as follows:

  1. VM uses Windows 2016

  2. The vm is added to the domain, but the domain name is not in the domain, it is a separate domain name, for example: the domain is: 123.com, the domain name is: abc.com

  3. The forwarder is configured in the windows dns service

  4. Open tcp / udp 53 between vm and DNS server

Thanks & Regards,
