share sharepoint site with all users of external company, without invitations

We have two large companies merging. We need to be able to grant access to specific sharepoint sites to all (thousands) users of the other organization. We want to be able to send users a link to the site in an email and for them to be able to access the site via a regular site link (If they have to go through a registration at that point, that would be ok). We can't send out invitations to all users of the other org. Also, as new hires come in, we don't want to have to invite them via an ongoing process.

I've read about configuring B2B extranet, but that seems to require sending an invitation to each user, which is not what we want to do. The sites we want to share would be open to all users of the both organizations - we don't want to have to invite individuals.

is this possible?
Thanks

Hi @johnjordan ,

SharePoint Online does not support public sites, and users need to be invited via email.

You could consider building an O365Group, add all the customers you need to invite to this group, and then invite these users through sharing.
