Hi All,

I'm having trouble licensing Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 with an MAK.

MAK has been validated by Microsoft, it is definitely correct, and in VAMT it shows as EnterpriseS - Win 10 RTM EnterpriseS Volume:MAK

The OS was downloaded from VSLC, however it was VSLC for a different organisation to who gave me the license keys (The company I work for provided the ISO, the company hiring us provided the license key). In VAMT it shows as Windows(R) EnterpriseS edition. The Product Key Type shows as GVLK (which I think is the source of the issue).

If I try to apply the product key from VAMT, I get the following error: "The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid."

If I open the Activation GUI in Windows, I see the error "We can't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organisation's activation server... Error code: 0xC00F074"

If I try to change the product key through the GUI, I get the following: " The product key you entered didn't work... (0x80041014)"

slmgr /ipk gives "Error: 0xC004E016 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016 to display the error text"

Running slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016 shows an error dialogue that says "The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid."

I have tried slmgr /upk, slmgr /ckms, slmgr /skms 127.0.0.1 and a variety of other combinations I have found online with no luck.

slmgr /dli shows:
Windows (R) Operating System, VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel
License Status: Notification
Notification Reason: 0xC004F056

Can anyone help? I have already installed and configured ~20 odd machines with this iso and really don't want to have to reconfigure them.

Thanks in advance.

Launch Command Prompt from the Start Menu.
Type the following command “vbs /ipk YYYY-YYYY-YYYY-YYYY”
(enter the command without inverted commas & make sure you replace Y with the actual product key with 25 characters.)
Click Enter and in the same window, execute the command “vbs -ato”
    (type the command inverted commas.)
Hit Enter and reboot your PC to check if the problem still persists or not.

You may run the Activation Troubleshooter or Windows Troubleshooter.

Check your system's date and time also.

    Hi SSengupta-4080

I assume in your answer you meant to write:
    "SLMGR.vbs /ipk ....."
vbs is not a valid command.

If my assumption is correct, I already tried that:

slmgr /ipk gives "Error: 0xC004E016 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016 to display the error text"
Running slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004E016 shows an error dialogue that says "The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid."

The result is no different if I just run slmgr or slmgr.vbs

Date and time are correct and come from an ntp server.

    Regards,
    Michael

You have almost everything, still you getting the problem.

Let us try to check the integration of the system files.

    In command prompt:

    sfc /scannow

    Hi,

GVLKs are referred to as KMS client setup keys.
In other words, the GVLK does not work unless a valid KMS host key can be found. GVLKs are the only product keys that do not need to be kept confidential.
To use the GVLKs, you must first have a KMS host running in your deployment.
If you haven't already configured a KMS host, see Deploy KMS Activation for steps to set one up.
You could use VAMT for this. It will tell you if the computers were activated using MAK for KMS and will let you switch between the two.
In addition, here are some posts with the similar issue with yours, just for your reference, you can try the method mentioned in them:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/azure/en-US/ae88055e-8484-4580-99e8-80af956da67d/change-mak-to-kms-via-quotslmgr-upkquot?forum=itprovistaactivation

Hope above information can help you.
