One Drive Sync very slow to update files added in cloud

We are currently utilizing Sharepoint sites for hosting our company documents and using OneDrive to sync the Documents to local desktops. We are able to get the sync working and work with files however there is a significant delay when a file is created in the cloud to sync with the desktop app, this can sometimes exceed 20 minutes. There are approximately 180,000 files in this directory and there are about 20-25 people working within the directory.

is there a way to make the sync faster than it is or is this just a limitation of the software.

we are aware that we could work solely out of the cloud using the sharepoint site however we migrated from a local file share and we would like to retain the ability to use windows file explorer.

Hi @JohnMara-1059,

Please check the followings:

Right click the OneDrive icon in the task bar -> Settings -> Network -> make sure Upload rate and Download rate both select Don't limit.
Check the version of OneDrive, update it to the latest. Please refer to this article: OneDrive release notes.
Try to create a new library and upload/create a few files in it, sync it to a new location via OneDrive to see if it is still slow. If it isn't slow this time, this situation may be caused by the large number of files in the library/local directory. Or in other words, It is the normal time needed by OneDrive.

Or in other words, It is the normal time needed by OneDrive??? This means onedrive is impossible to use on a professional base? I'm downloading 40gb of pictures, first 39gb downloaded in a few hours, last giga takes more than one week! It is not acceptable... Dear microsoft, any fix for this?
