Intune fully managed enrollment ways Android

Hi all,

Is there any chance to enroll an Android device as fully managed without having it from factory reset status?

I mean, we have an Android transition from another MDM to Intune and we would like to offer the minimum impact to users. So, I think the best way is to enroll with Company portal login. In that case, Intune detects the enrollment as Work profile.

Also, do you have any comparison between restrictions on Fully Managed and Work Profile?

Thank you so much,

I had this asked in Microsoft forums. For you to switch to fully managed managed, you have to reset existing devices. This is by design and no way around it.

Attached a comparison screenshot.

Thank you Pad-7009 for the comparison.

Do you have more information regarding the fully managed enrollment method for Android? Is there any chance to enroll the device as fully managed without resetting it from factory status? In a migration scenario I would like to just offer a step by step as:

  • Download Company Portal from previous MDM

  • Detach enrollment from previous MDM

  • Login on Company Portal (Intune)

@ArroyoAlmansaSara-7795, Intune enrollment for dedicated devices, fully managed devices, and corporate-owned with a work profile start with a factory reset. That is to say, factory reset is necessary for Android fully managed enrollment

Hope it can help.
