How to stop Teams meetings from automatically populating when a new meeting option is selected and an appointment is created.
In the the top part of your setup, select Don't Host Online.
As additional information. When using the Outlook 2016 client on a laptop. When creating a meeting in the calendar, even when deleting any reference to a teams meeting before sending it out, it still contains the teams meeting link. Is this a setting that each user can take care of or is it a global setting and if it is where can make the change to accommodate this.
Not sure if this will bleed down to Outlook, but in Office 365 online mail, under settings (gear icon) and “View All Outlook Settings/Calendar/Events and Invitations/”, you can disable “Add online meetings to all meetings”.
I would like to find a way to turn it off globally, as our staff keeps creating Teams Meetings on accident and it’s creating a lot of confusion.
You can turn it off as the default with this PowerShell command:
Set-OrganizationConfig -OnlineMeetingsByDefaultEnabled $False
However, that doesn't prevent users from turning it on. I'm having the same problem, where people are creating Teams Meetings by accident (such as when they are creating a Zoom meeting) and then people are joining the Teams meeting instead of the Zoom meeting.
How is this done in the cloud-based version of Microsoft 365? I would like the steps, please. Thank you.
im not sure if something went crazy or 'someone' decided the last update should make TEAMS meetings default. But it was a horrible decision if so. Has caused a lot of confusion. Nothing has been changed in this forever and now suddenly i have 20 users confused on whether they need to go to the board rooms or do Teams online as if I know their meeting types.
Do you mean the following information?
You could customize your meeting invitation in Microsoft Teams admin center.
About deleting Teams meeting details, you could do that in Outlook client as below. It will show nothing in the meeting. However, there will also be no entrance for the meeting.
