Blue Screen with different strings in Windows 10

Hi,

Specifications of my laptop as

Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz
RAM: 12.0 GB
HD: 250GB SSD + 1TB HD
Graphics: Intel UHD 620 + 2GB Radeon 540
OS: Windows 10 Home Single Language, 20H2 19042.804

Windows is installed in SSD.

All drivers and Windows are updated. Brand of my laptop is Lenovo. Frequently I see Blue Screen in my laptop.

As per dump files, almost all-time, string is different but cause is same i.e., atikmdag.sys or ntoskrnl.exe.

I discussed Lenovo Technical Team multiple times. Every time they do scan with Lenovo Diagnostic Tool.

According to the Lenovo Diagnostic Tool’s report, no hardware issue in the laptop.

That’s why every time they recommend either of two options; fresh installation of Windows and re-install drivers.

I did multiple times but after sometimes again I see Blue Screen frequently.

I gone through various links. It seems that almost all are using hit and trial method.

Is it possible to find exact cause of Blue Screen?

Moreover, please let me know various tools for diagnosing and resolving Blue Screen.

I am very much disappointed.

I’ll be thankful to you for giving your time.

Best Regards
NndnG

Hi,
You met bsod and saw the error atikmdag.sys or ntoskrnl.exe.
Sounds like it could be related to your video card driver. It seems that you have updated to the latest Win10 20H2 version.
You have tried to update all drivers. Whether it included BIOS and chipset drivers.
At the same time, according to your information, it may be the graphics card driver and system version is not compatible problem.
I suggest that you could try an order video card driver to check or uninstall the latest security update to temporarily downgrade OS build version.
For bsod, Mini Dump and Memory Dump are useful file to help you analyze problem. They are stored in C:\Windows\minidump or memory. Then we could use WinDbg previewer tool to analyze.
Please understand due to security policy and from our professional level, we do not provide dump/log analysis. In addition, if this problem is more urgent for you I still recommend that you open a case to Microsoft for further professional help.

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

Thank you for replying, giving your time and sharing useful link.

As you said, Sounds like it could be related to your video card driver. It seems that you have updated to the latest Win10 20H2 version.

I think this is correct.

Current version of Radeon 540 is 17.12. I see notification for upgrading to Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.11.2.

After upgrading, I frequently see AMD Bug Report and BSOD was more frequent.

I contacted AMD. They discussed some steps but at the end issue couldn't resolved.

Now I came back to previous version i.e. 17.12. I don't see AMD Bug Report. I think I should continue with 17.12.

However, sometimes I see BSOD and Windows gets stuck.

That's why I am frustrated.

Moreover, you're talking about WinDbg.

For WinDbg, I found link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/debugger-download-tools

I am little bit confused. Do I need to download and install Windows 10 SDK for WinDbg?

Apart from WinDbg, please let me know other tools for diagnosing BSOD.
