Suddenly remoting into Window 2016 requires RDS license

Hi,
My Windows 2016 server has be up and running for over one year now in a AD domain environment. We normally RDP into the box as admins and it has never asked for RDS license or gave us error "The RD Licensing grace period has expired and Licensing mode for the Remote Desktop Session." Just last week it started acting up and won't left anyone (just two admins) RDP into the box. I have no trouble RDP into my other boxes (mix of W2019/W2012R2/W2008R2). Do I need to purchase RDS license even just two of us RDP into the boxes?
Thanks in advance.

Hello @KevinWong-2008

Did you install any RDS roles, like RDS Session Host?

Thanks
