Hi, We have a 16 Core Azure Manage Instance SQL, Queries are running very slow compared to Azure SQL VM. Example update statement of a table consists of 35 lakhs table is taking 12 Minutes whereas 8 Core SQL Vm is taking only just 0 seconds to complete the same statement. In MI the usage of the server is hardly 20 % but still, our queries are taking longer than that.

Please verify your MAXDOP settings and Cost threshold for parallelism on managed instance with your VM configuration.

@AnshulFarkya-7260 , I have verified both the settings are the same as VM. 5 and 0 respectively.
Compare the query plans of the problem UPDATE statement and check for blocking.
No Luck Bro, There is no block and the update statement plan seems the same.
