Azure DSC extensions for Linux

have a question regarding Azure DSC on Linux. We have a requirement to maintain the desired states of our Linux vms by using Azure dsc. We also are using log analytics workspaces 4 vm monitoring purpose. Now can we use dsc & Log analytics workspaces together? I am not able to find any latest updated document. The last updated document was from the year 2018 where it stated that there is some compatibility issue with both of the extensions. But it almost three years, let us know the current status so that we can use both side by side. What is workaround.

Hi @64422949

Hi @64422949,

As per this / this recent azure-docs GitHub repository issue,

  • We will be plan to support DSC and Azure monitoring side by side soon officially. We will discuss with Product team and provided the ETA on this.

  • As of now few customer are using DSC and Azure monitoring side by side internally. Current Linux DSC extension is using DSC Engine - 1.1.1-926 hence both latest azure monitor agent and latest DSC extension 2.72.1.1 can work side by side. Customers can use latest DSC extension and latest Azure monitor side by side in their test environment if they don't see any issue then they can proceed with production. If there is any issue let us know.

Please refer the above mentioned issues for any updates in the future or let me know if you have any further queries regarding it.
