Microsoft Word files unreadable content

I just upgraded to a new Macbook Air and loaded the new 365 office. My old files are moving through the cloud, but will not open in Word. I get the 'unreadable content" error with no resolution. The file tag is .docx I can't see any reason for this to happen.

What cloud service are you using? Only OneDrive and SharePoint are supported for online editing with Word for macOS. Other cloud services will corrupt your files and should only be used for storage and file sharing.

Please refer to JohnKorchok's reply to have a check.
Please tell us which cloud service do you use?

If your are using OneDrive and SharePoint, I suggest you share others who use MacBook to check whether they could open files.
