When you apply a wifi configuration, which is already present in the device, the configuration will be applied to the device, but the wifi will get disconnected or simultaneously connect and disconnect from the device.

From your description, my understanding is that the device has an exist wifi profile and now we deploy a new wifi profile to the device. Then the device disconnected to the new wifi. If there is anything misunderstanding, feel free to let us know.
To clarify this issue, we appreciate your help to collect some information:
1. Please check if this situation only occurs in this device or any other devices have the same situation.
2. Please get a full screen shot of the settings of the new wifi profile.
3. Check if the device status is "Succeeded" in this wifi profile in intune portal.
4. Could you please show us the screen shot of wifi disconnected in the device's wifi list?
At the same time, it is suggested to try to connect wifi manually and see if it can connect successfully.
