How to connect display to Bastion?

Hi,

I'm connecting to my VM (Ubuntu server) with Bastion, and I can see and use the terminal through the web browser (Chrome). This is working fine.

However, I would like to connect a display.

 $ gvim & [1] 2325
 $ E233: cannot open display

Usually when setting a display I need to export the DISPLAY env variable and set it to the X11 server. But how can I configure that for Bastion? I know this can be done because I've seen screenshots of GUI on Bastion, I'm probably missing some configuration on my VM.

Thanks,
Amir

As far as I know, you can SSH to VM via Bastion only with Browser. Can you share the screenshots of the GUI on Bastion which you have mentioned?

Here for example: https://blog.ahasayen.com/introducing-azure-bastion/
It's a Windows VM, but it's definitely gui-over-the-browser.
I thought I've seen some example over Linux, but maybe I'm wrong because I can't find it right now.
