OK.

I've tested by setting "showInAddressBook" attribute : contact is shown in OWA/Outlook without issue.
But as it is shown on Samsung smartphone through ActiveSync, Samsung contacts app says this contact cannot be found.

So I've enable it as "MailContact" in Exchange.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @FXE-9887 ,

You have to mail enable them with external email address to be added in GAL. You can do this using Exchange Admin Center or shell.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/enable-mailcontact?view=exchange-ps
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/recipients-in-exchange-online/manage-mail-contacts

Hi AshokM-8240 and thank you for your answer.

If I understand, for a contact to be shown in GAL, it must have an email address ?
In our case, we need to publish a contact with phone number only. Is it possible ?

Thank you.

Yes, Exchange GAL contains mail enabled objects which are part of address lists.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/email-addresses-and-address-books/address-lists/address-lists?view=exchserver-2019#default-address-lists
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/recipients/recipients?view=exchserver-2019#exchange-recipient-types

You can try using ADSIEdit and change attribute value if its one contact to be published but that's not supported and may end up messing things :)

Attribute is showInAddressBook and that needs to be added with distinguished name of "All Contacts" & "Default Global Address lists"
