Format color

I would like to make certain words all the same color in a word document. For example, if I make the word "and" in a document red, I wouldd like to make all instances of that word appear red.

Easily done via Find/Replace.

I am glad to hear that you have solved the issue. Could you share your solution here? So that users that have the same issue can refer to your solution.

According to your description, I suggest you use the Replace function in Word.
Please go to Home and find Replace in the Editing tab.
Test as below.
