SCCM 1906: In-place upgrade stuck at Windows upgrade progress: 44%

I'm using SCCM to upgrade Windows OS from Windows 10 1906 to 2004. I followed the steps in this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/deploy-windows-cm/upgrade-to-windows-10-with-configuraton-manager, some device upgrade successful, but some others not. They are stucking in Windows Upgrade progress: 44%

I cannot find the casue, can anyone help here? Much appreciate!

It might be this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-10-2004#417msgdesc

The last part of your setupact log is at that Conexant ISST audio driver when it stops.

I'd recommend updating all of the drivers on your system in general, and make sure the Conexant ISST audio drivers are updated.

Hi Gary, sorry, please ignore my previous update. Looks like the upgrade is successful after uninstall the driver. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you for your post. The device can be upgraded by running setup.exe manually, I dont have a device now. I will get back to you once I get the same issue on another device.

I see this issue again... I tried to uninstall the Conexant ISST audio driver, but still failed. And I also tried to run the setup.exe to manual upgrade the OS, it is successful. Do you have any other suggestion here?

If you update driver manually, will the IPU then success?

Yep, same here with HP laptops. It is very annoying, that the step never fails, it is stuck which makes troubleshoting much more difficult.
