Where to get Windows Server 2019 Build 2004?

Hey, Any idea from where can I download the ISO for WS19 2004? I downloaded 17763.737.190906-2324.rs5_release_svc_refresh_SERVER_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us_1.iso from the Trial page but I'm not sure if that's 2004.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Microsoft pulled an Apple and put it under Windows Server not Windows Server 2019 in the volume licensing center.

Hi,

If you have a Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) or Visual Studio subscription, you'll find the new Windows Server build 2004 there.

The Windows Server evaluation ISO is build 1809.

You can also download the Windows Server insider preview builds from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewserver

Also note that the Windows Server, version 2004 is not Windows Server 2019, they are different releases.

  • Windows Server 2019 is a Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release.

  • Windows Server, version 2004 is a Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) release.

Best regards,
Leon

Unfortunately I don't have either. :/ I am Windows Insider member but I'm looking for a stable build. I'm OK with the SAC release channel.

The Semi-Annual Channel is available to volume-licensed customers with Software Assurance, as well as via the Azure Marketplace or other cloud/hosting service providers and loyalty programs such as Visual Studio Subscriptions.

I'm reading that in order to install WSL2 I would need build 18917 is that correct? If yes, is that build available?

Any hint where's the download link in Visual Studio? I subscribed but the only thing related to "2004" or "1809" - in Downloads - is "Windows Server, version 2004 Language Pack". Thank you!

Might be that you have to wait a bit for it to arrive, I'm not sure which Visual Studio subscription is currently available to receive it, I do have it in my Microsoft Partner subscription:

Hi Leon,

When I sign in to our VLSC portal I see 2 options (see screenshot 1) and when i download and install the ISO updated June 2020 it is the version build number 1809 (see screenshot 2). Any thoughts on how to obtain the latest 2004 build?

You mention that one is an LTSC, so are there difference portals to get the SAC?

Thanks for your time.

@ScotJohnson-8253 it's been a month so you might have found it already, but in case you didn't and other people land here looking for it - the SAC builds are located under the "Windows Server Standard" heading instead of "Windows Server 2019 Standard." (Because, I guess, the SAC builds of Windows Server aren't Windows Server 2019.)

Hi Leon, I have a question that might seem naive. Our company has a Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription which we keep up-to-date every year.
Is it legal to use Windows Server ISOs from the Insider Program for our Development Team?
I would appreciate if you have any link with more information.

Shout out to Microsoft for not releasing this to all the users running Windows Server 2019... </sarcasm> Some of us want a Ryzen optimized kernel (introduced in W10 1903) but instead we are stuck only running Intel.

Hello,

I already did that but didn't found anything relevant.

Again, I'm looking for the full ISO with the latest Windows Server 2019 2004 build. If such build doesn't exist, then what build did Microsoft released yesterday with support for WSL2?

Thanks!
