OSD client pulling from remote DPs

I have a DP in an isolated environment (CANADA DP) in which is associated with a single ip address range boundary within a boundary group. The primary site with MP also is a DP as well. There is another remote DP as well. When I start an image deployment from a client within my Canada environment the image process will still prioritize the DP at the primary site as well as the other remote site as content location(s) and will in fact pull content "randomly" from all DPs. Is this due to the DP installation role on the Primary with the MP role? I am not sure how to exclude other DPs from the picture. The CANADA DP boundary group is not even in the default site properties as a boundary group. I am wondering if a seperate DP instance at the primary site location is the solution.... Thank you Michael

You can make use of fallback relationships in the boundary group.
do not add the remote IP segment into the primary site boundary group, if you do so, clients have the access to both primary DP, and remote DP.
If you have boundary group created for remote DP, then under the references, add only the remote DP, in the relationships, add the primary site boundary group, and check the DP for do not fallback. This way, you still allow clients to connect to primary site for MP and SUP but not for DP.
You are restricting the clients to connect only to remote DP.
for more information about boundary group fallback, refer https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/servers/deploy/configure/boundary-group-procedures#bkmk_bg-fallback

Thank you, I forgot to mention that I did already specify the Boundary group relationships not to (NEVER) failback, but it appears that it still does look to other DPs (sets priority) and will download from other DPs. I am not sure if having Multicast enabled does something differently....just thinking out of the box. I will look at a current smsts.log and post details.

Just on another note, I notice that the suspect clients after imaging are displaying an unexpected Active Directory Site Name, I am going to dig into site and services to see if there is some odd subnet setup with the site.
