Quotation Marks conversion after migration

I recently purchased a 2019 MacBook Pro. I had been writing a novel on my previous - 2008 - MacBook Pro, and when I migrated the document to my new computer I noticed that all of the quotation marks from the earlier work are (I don't know what the technical term is, but...) straight up and down, no curl, whereas the ones that are appearing when I write more recent pages are what one would probably call smart quotes, with the curly tail. This is going to be an issue when I submit my novel to a publisher, as it just looks unprofessional. I need to convert the entire document so that all of the punctuation matches, commas, quotations, apostrophes, and all. Help? Thank you.

    Please open one document on Mac with Word for Mac.
    Go to Word button on the top of screen> Preferences > AutoCorrect.
    Go to “AutoFormat as You Type” tab and look under “Replace as you type” section.
    Make sure the option of “Straight quotation marks” with “smart quotation marks” is ticked.

    Besides, you may also go to Edit > Find > Replace, then find all the symbols and replace with the symbols that you want. Please note, it is recommended to make a file backup first.
