MS Teams file tab cannot show files shared in one-to-one chat

Hi,

I wonder why the file tab in MS Teams cannot show the files that I share with others while sometimes work and sometimes not. There is nothing while I share a lot of files.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

BTW, I have tried switch the Teams language back to English and it doesn't work.

I can see the files on Sharepoint and download them but just cannot view them in File tab in Teams

Hi Allen,

Sorry to reply late. I notice that it takes nearly 11 days to synchronize the files I share/ or be shared in teams File tab no matter in web client or desktop client. (and some files still cannot synchronize yet)

Some chat will synchronize as soon as I share the file.

I've tried re-install teams and there is still this issue.

Suggest you to open a service request with Microsoft as I couldn't reproduce this issue in my end and It's hard to go on further troubleshooting. Thanks for your understanding.

hi,

it might sound silly but what has helped me and my colleagues with this issue:

  • login to MS Teams web app in a private window (I used Edge)

  • switch to Files tab in the desired chat

for me the files were visible in there and since then also in the desktop app

hope it works for you as well, even though it does sound more like an accident than a solution
