Intune Application Status 'Not Applicable' - More Information?

Hi,

we have a couple of Windows apps (S4B, online) that are assigned as required for AutoPilot devices. Some of the apps are installed without problem, others only show up in the Intune console as "not applicable". I can't find any information on those apps in the clients event viewer, nor is there any information in the Intune console as to why these apps are not applicable. Where can I find any hint as to why they are marked as 'not applicable'?

Cheers,

Fred

@DEFredEricS, We can refer to the following article to troubleshoot the app deployment issue:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/intune/troubleshoot-app-install

However, if the issue still persists, please let us which app Type is affected. And what is the configuration of the app?

Hope it can help.

Hi,

I'm afraid the article isn't very helpful. The App in question is a Microsoft Store for Business App (Online) - TeamViewer Quicksupport. We've tried deploying it to devices as well as users and in all cases, the app is not installed and is shown as "not applicable" in Intune with no reason as to why it is not applicable. Every other App is correctly installed (if set to required) or appears in the Company Portal (if set to available). Except this app.

Cheers,

Fred

@DEFredEricS, After doing more research, I find if we deploy online licensed apps to a Surface Hub device, it will show "Note applicable". Because Surface Hub only supports offline-licensed apps through the Store for Business. We can see more details in the following link:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/surface-hub/install-apps-on-surface-hub#download-app-packages-from-microsoft-store-for-business

Please confirm if our affected devices are Surface Hub. If yes, try to deploy offline apps to see if it is working.

Hope it can help.

Hi Crystal,

not Surface Hubs, Dell Latitude Laptops in our case. But we'll test with offline apps to make sure it's not an issue with the online app version of this specific app.

Cheers,

Fred
