Is it possible to use Assets Library Templates in Word and Excel Online?

I have created a Office Template Library, Assets Library within our organization.

Everything works great in the Word, Excel and PowerPoint application on my computer, but in Office Online the Templates are only available in PowerPoint Online.

Is there a way to make the template available in Excel and Word Online also since we have some Microsoft 365 Business Basic licensed users aswell?

Hi guys,

Did it finaly show up in Word Online?

It is very strange that PowerPoint Online supports it, but not Word Online and Excel Online.

Can't find any explicit documentation about Word Online to figurer out if it's suppose to work or not.

Thanks!

Hi @JesperDahllf-7145,

I test it on my own and it may take from a couple of hours to a day for changes to be reflected.

I will update my reply as soon as the office templates works.

Also, judging from similar post, this seems does not work in the Office Online application:

Hi @JulieWang-MSFT Thank you for the dedication!

If this was working in the Online version it would be a fantastic feature. Let's just hope it get added soon.

It'ss weird that it's added in PowerPoint and not the other applications, the step to adding it to Word and Excel can't be that far...

Hi @JesperDahllf-7145,

Whether you use the Office F3 license?

From official article, to use this feature on PowerPoint for the web, users need to be assigned a license to Office 365 E3 or E5.

According to my test, since I only have Microsoft 365 E5 developer license, and I can not use this feature in office web.
