    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

does the resolution have to be the same from what it decribes like on all assets images?

Yes, when you supply a single image, the Visual Studio will generate the small tile, medium tile, large tile, wide tile, large tile, app icon, splash screen, and package logo assets for every scale factor. The pixels displayed under each generated icon are the pixel size they need, so if you want to change one of the icon, you need to use the same pixel image to replace it. For more information about icons, you can refer to this document.
