The question was asked before but never answered https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/be1d37e1-6f32-4aba-a76f-ebcc7234b2a0/not-able-to-import-visio-2013-workflow-in-sharepoint-designer-2013?forum=sharepointgeneral I too have installed Sharepoint 2013 designer and I can see the option to create 2013 workflow on the farm so Workflow Manager is working I too have installed and used Visio Professional 2013 to create the sharepoint 2013 workflow from visio template. Both designer 2013 and visio 2013 are on same box I get the errors first "Server side activities have been updated. You need to restart SP Designer to use the updated version of activities." then the error "An error has occurred while importing the visio diagram. Export the diagram again to correct this error." I have run windows / microsoft update on all office product all service packs installed. in visio i have checked the diagram. Remember this is Visio 2013 and Export in the tool ribbon is only for 2010 workflow template. in 2013 I save as vsdx file. Why does the message keep occurring "Server side activities have been updated. You need to restart SP Designer to use the updated version of activities."?? I went to link https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/218892/error-server-side-activities-have-been-updated-you-need-to-restart-sharepoint-d outlines error: server side activities have been updated you need to restart sharepoint designer steps I followed them but goto trying to download January 12, 2016, update for SharePoint Designer 2013 (KB3114337) but the download from catalog pages does not let me down the .cab file https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/january-12-2016-update-for-sharepoint-designer-2013-kb3114337-68360e75-0a58-989d-ca58-cacc91a578f7 AND that is what Windows / Microsoft update is for? All service packs say they are installed? CAnnot successfully import 2013 visio sharepoint workflow into sharepoint designer 2013?
