We have Sharepoint 2013 farm, which uses content search web parts to lift news articles. We have configured several result sources which query the search index based on content type id. This is customers test farm we're using to evaluate the feasibility of installing the CU.
After applying the Sharepoint Server 2013 February 2021 CU, none of the result sources can no longer find the news articles created prior to the CU installation, based on the content type. After installing the CU, we debugged the search by creating few new news articles and those new news articles shop up fine in the result source query test and are also lifted up by the web parts.
Both new and old news articles have the exact same content type id. Both new and old news articles appear in the search content source URL view so the search has indexed them.
Here are the troubleshooting steps we have taken thus far:
Reset the search index and performed a full crawl
Cleared distributed cache
Cleared config cache on all web front ends, did a timer job service recycle and performed a full crawl
Compared new and old news items using powershell and didn't find any such differences which we tought could cause this behaviour.
It really seems like somehow the result sources cannot find the articles created BEFORE installing the CU.
Has anyone ran into this problem before and found a solution or has any ideas of further troubleshooting steps we could take? We're running out of
ideas.
Regards,
Tunkkari
