Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition - License Expired

Hi,
I've signed in and using VS 2015 Community Edition for more than a year, but suddenly there is Expired License popup everytime I opened my VS 2015. I've tried all the tutorial provided in https://pupuweb.com/solved-visual-studio-community-license-expired-evaluation-period-ended/ , but still no good news.
And also, everytime I tried to add an account and using my current account, there is another error popup "AADSTS50074: Strong Authentication is required."
I don't know what else to do, can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advance.79637-screen-shot-2021-03-19-at-224947.png79629-screen-shot-2021-03-19-at-225027.png

Have you tried the resolution proposed here: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/could-not-add-account-to-visual-studio-strong-auth/820688 ?

There seems to be a problem specific to Visual Studio 2015. You may have your reasons to stick to VS 2015, but Id recommend to transition to VS 2019.

As a temporary workaround you might add -max 31 - days to your Visual Studio license with a solution proposed by Dimitrii on: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43390466/is-visual-studio-community-a-30-day-trial (Follow the link to the github project on that page.)

I've tried the solution on https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/could-not-add-account-to-visual-studio-strong-auth/820688 , but still no luck.

I'm sticking with VS 2015 due to one of my core tech stack only compatible with VS 2015, and if we upgrade the tech stack it will be a major issue for us.

I've got a temporary solution like changing my windows datetime, but I don't think it is a good idea since my datetime keep on changing back to the real datetime. Therefore when I want to open VS 2015, I change my datetime and quickly opened VS 2015, so that the "license expired popup" won't bugged me until I close it.

So why don't you try the temporary workaround via GitHub - that seems preferable to changing your date and time. That way you can add 31 days and at least use the product until someone comes along who solves the problem once and for all. The GitHub workaround took me five minutes to set up initially, and I'm sure it will take less than a minute if you needed to repeat the process.

What problems did you encounter with the solution proposed on the developer community site?

Oh almost forgot, as for the github solution, I've tried it registering my account to github using the same email address.
After I succeed registering to github, I tried to sign in using Github account but there is a new error popup (screenshot attached). 79932-whatsapp-image-2021-03-21-at-184229.jpeg
I close my VS and re-login using my github account but still same issue. License expired and couldn't check license due to proxy/network.

Hi @LeonardoKevinJapri-1104,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Have you clicked on the “Check for an updated license”? Are there any error messages?

Please ensure that you are in a stable network environment. Then, open your default browser like IE and try to add some domain URLs to an allow list as trusted.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/install/install-and-use-visual-studio-behind-a-firewall-or-proxy-server?view=vs-2017

Sincerely,
Anna

Hi,

I have clicked "Check for an updated license", the error was stated above in the first screenshot.
I'm sure I have a stable network environment, and also I've already listed all domain URLs in trusted allow list.

But still, no luck.

Maybe you can try the following steps:
1. Close all instances of Visual Studio
2. Delete all files of %localappdata%.Identityservice
3. Relaunch your Visual Studio and click on the “Help” menu> Send Feedback > Report a Problem… > Sign in on Visual Studio Feedback page
4. Go back to check if you have signed in your account

Hi
@LeonardoKevinJapri-1104, have you solved?
I've got exactly same issue, all was fine until yesterday, from today it say licence is expired and there is no way to renew...

I already tried to reinstall (many problems also ther with lack of file during installation), but now I'm in this situation... Licence expired.

Thank you
