SQL Server 2019 CU9 FCI Install - Extended Events Error in Log

After a successful FCI install of SQL2019, we then applied CU9 and now we see this error in the SQL Log:

Event session "telemetry_xevents" failed to start. Refer to previous errors in the current session to identify the cause, and correct any associated problems.
The event name, "CE79811F-1A80-40E1-8F5D-7445A3F375E7.sqlserver.feature_restriction_usage", is invalid, or the object could not be found

Can't find any other errors. Anyone know why we are seeing this error please? It seems to have been introduced by CU9...?

Hi Saransvan-0628,
After some research, there seems to be no documentation about "CE79811F-1A80-40E1-8F5D-7445A3F375E7.sqlserver.feature_restriction_usage" and I cannot find it in my event session telemetry_xevents.
Could you please check if the event "CE79811F-1A80-40E1-8F5D-7445A3F375E7.sqlserver.feature_restriction_usage" exists in session telemetry_xevents -> Properties->Events tab->selected events?

In addition, could you please try to create a new session for telemetry_xevents by right-clicking the session telemetry_xevents->Script Session as->Create To?

I would say that the error is benign. It is not going to affect your operations. It will affect the Telemetry process which sends information to Microsoft about which features you are using, but that's kind of their problem.

But if you want to be a good boy, you could find another instance of SQL 2019 and script the event session on that machine to recreate it on this one.

Thanks both. AmeliaGu-msft, I can't see the event, no. However what we did do in the end though was to script the session, delete and recreate and that seems to have fixed the issue.
