I have a problem when trying to perform OLR from backup on Amazon S3 storage that is slightly over 1GB. When I try to perform from the local storage, full table is restored, but when do the same from S3, table is recovered partially (2-3%). I found in SQL error logs that SQL Server end threads with error:

Error: 4014, Severity: 20, State: 11. A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 109, output error: 0).

Backup was made using VDI technology and environment was Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 14.0.1000.169

I tried solutions found on net, like shut off TCP chimney or RSS but that's not help at all.

What could be the problem here and how can I overcome the problem?

    Hi,

According to your description, it seems you meet an issue when using the third-party backup tool to backup the SQL database. Since we are not familiar with Amazon S2 storage, and there's limited information about the issue on Internet, it's recommended to open a case with MS to check if the issue is Windows related. It's also recommended to turn to Amazon S3 community to check if you may get better help.

Below is the link to open a case with MS:

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne
