Do I need to manually transit to Azure Monitor if I'm only using classic metrics on storage purpose?

Hi there!

I have received an email saying that

Classic metrics in Azure Storage will be retired on 31 August 2023—transition to metrics in Azure Monitor
You're receiving this email because you use classic metrics in Azure Storage.

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/azure-storage-classic-metrics-will-be-retired-on-31-august-2023/
According to the link provided in email, Azure Monitor provides more metrics and monitoring/analyzing tools. So I would like to know, if our codes only treat current Azure as "storage", and we won't be using monitoring/analyzing tools provided by Azure. Do we still need to do anything about this change?

Thanks for your kind help in advance!

It sounds like you would not need to do anything. If you are not currently utilizing the Classic Metrics then there will be no problem once they are disabled. For the new Azure Monitor, Metrics are enabled by default, so there is nothing you need to do to begin capturing metrics. You must however, create charts or dashboards to view those metrics.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions or issues.
