.NET Core 2.1 framework

Hi,
In my Visual Studio 2017, .NET core project is not available. Only .NET framework available
Can i install SDK .NET Core 2.1 framework for getting .Net core projects?
I have licensed version of Visual Studio Professional in my machine.
Is there any issue to install SDK .NET Core 2.1 framework in my machine?

The easiest path forward is installing Visual Studio 2019.

If for some reason you need to stay with VS 2017 then you'll need to also install the ASP.NET Core 2.1 SDK which contains the Visual Studio templates that you can't currently find.

Keep in mind, ASP.NET 2.1 long term support ends August 2021. If you just now getting into Core I recommend .Net 5 and VS 2019.

Hi @Prabs-7622,
Please check that you have installed .NET Core cross platform development workload.

And I suggest you repair your Visual Studio after you install .NET Core SDK(Open Visual Studio Install-> More->Repair ).

Hi @Prabs-7622,
When you create a new project, is there a tab for .NET Core?

Hi Prabs-7622,
For .NET Core 2.1, you need Visual Studio2017 version 15.7 or higher. (check it from Help menu > About Microsoft Visual Studio).
So you can update your visual studio firstly.
To add .NET Core 2.1 to visual studio, you need to install the .NET Core SDK from here.
And make sure that the .NET Core cross platform development workload is installed through the Visual Studio Installer.
please follow this document to install it with Visual Studio.
Best Regards,
Daniel Zhang
