Could RDS Session Collections in Windows Server 2012-R2 improve performance?

Hi; I am planning to implement RDS Session Collections in Windows Server 2012-R2, currently; my Thin Client user connect to terminal server with RDP protocol, each user will be assigned a terminal server to access. Not sure, if RDS Session Collections can help to improve end user desktop experience in terms of application running on server? My understanding is that the RDS Session Collections like a load balancing of a group of terminal servers, in which the user will be placed to the terminal server dynamically by RDS Session. How can I make sure if the Server 1 is busy or reach a max. threshold, the next login user will be placed to a better performance server. Also, if my current RDS license can be supported by the RDS Session Collections ? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
RDS collections are groups of RD Session Host servers with a shared set of RemoteApps, session host, or VDI desktops that can be published to users. A collection can contain either remote desktops or RemoteApps. To create RDS collections could let us better manage how users access RemoteApp.
Always you could tell the rdp file which collection to use. When you deploy the RemoteApp or the RDP file, you can label them RDP-1 and RDP-2 or something so that the users can see which server they are connecting to. The other thing is you can set security on the connection so that they only see the connection that you want them to see. So then you know who is connected to what server and not the other way around. Use a Different security group for each of the collection and a different group for each remoteApp you deploy so that you have more control.
RDS license is related to your user or device. If RDS CAL is sufficient in Licensing Server, then the user can access it remotely.
Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.
Best Regards,
Carl

thank you!

If in my collection, there are 5 RDP session hosts - RDP1, RDP2, RDP3, RDP4, and RDP5. When user logon to the RDS collection, does he/she need to pick which RDPx to use, or the collection assign the user dynamically base on which RDP hosts is available?
