Windows Autopilot on brand new desktop/laptop

Hi, I have tested autopilot on VM running Windows 10 2004 Enterprise (without any pre-installed apps prior to autopilot). I am curious about following to know what to expect when I get physical test machine:

  1. What is end-user experience for employee brand new desktop/laptop (from the box) having been
handed over to? Will he/she just need to log in using Azure AD account and wait for Autopilot to
complete? What about OOBE settings and administrator account password in particular?

  2. What will happen with apps already present on machine? What if we want to get rid of them? Is that
    doable?

Thank you in advance.

For question 1:
1) If you did not use Autopilot pre-provisioning then a user must wait for all policies, apps to install via Intune.
2) If you used Autopilot, then you device level policies and apps will be installed by an IT tech, the user level policies and apps will be installed when user logs in.

3) If you don't want the user wait until the apps and policies are installed, you can skip the ESP page.

4) Administrator account can be added in Device settings page.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/devices/assign-local-admin

For question 2:
After OOBE only default apps will stay back. You will have to use scripts to remove them & deploy it via Intune.
