'System' missing in Adminsitrative Templates in GPO n Server 2019 Standard

I need to add the Following policy in GPO on Server 2019 Standard:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates82101-group-policy.png\System\Logon\Wait for Network at computer startup and logon

However, i don't find the 'System' Folder in Administrative Templates. I have downloaded the related ADMX files but 'System' still does not show up in Administrative Templates. Any immediate help will be appreciate. Please see the attached Pic of the current GPO options available.

Thanks,
Vik.

Hello @VikramRomana-9240,

Thank you for posting here.

Usually, if we did not create central store, we can see ADMX files are retrieved from the local computer when we edit the GPO settings.

This means the ADMX files are retrieved from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions and ADML files are retrieved from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US.

However, if you have created central store, we can see ADMX files are retrieved from the central store when we edit the GPO settings.

This means the ADMX files are retrieved from C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions and ADML files are retrieved from C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US.

As your screen shot shows that you are using a central store, you need to copy all of the admx files you need from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions to C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions ( OR \\a.local\SYSVOL\a.local\Policies\PolicyDefinitions) and copy all of the corresponding adml files you need from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US to C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US (OR \\a.local\SYSVOL\a.local\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US).

For more information about central store, please refer to the link below.

Hope the information above is helpful.

your screen shot shows that a central store is in use. you need to place all of the admx+adml files in your central store in sysvol, to see the settings

Hi Don,

Thanks for the quick response.

  1. Can you please provide me the correct ADMX Files which i need to put in the Central repository that will restore the 'System' in Administrative Templates.

  2. Secondly, can you please confirm the exact location of the central repository for Administrative Templates, i don't want to put a file at a wrong location.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Regards,
Vik.
