no pg_hba.conf entry for host after updating connection security via portal

We are currently having problems connecting to our postgres instances - error is that ip is not in the pg_hba.conf, however I have recently added my ip address to connection security via the azure portal (had to update as my ip cycled from my home address). Running "az postgres server firewall-rule list" I can see the ip address correctly configured, however I am still unable to login to the Postgres instance.

It appears this is a known issue.

See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/31958/updating-firewall-rules-has-no-effect-for-azure-da.html

A restart of the Azure PostgreSQL server fixes the issue - that's obviously not ideal but I've confirmed it fixes the issue.
