Why win10, do search and DL of updates BEFORE win10 has fully started?

Really.
WHY?
Yes Im still using a HD, and it might be abit slow but Why in the world when Win10 needs full use of the HD to load everything, do you start Auto update, to make it even SLOWER to initiate Win10 completing is Turning on and getting things ready?

Easy way to Force win update to delay for 1-2 min, and the 100% use of the HD to go DOWN.
Unless you can make Independent Multi headed, HD at a reasonable price.
PLEASE add a delay of some sort, Timed, based on HD activity, CPU activity, what ever..

Lets see. an automated system that Cant delay things, insted of having 10+ things all running at the same time, slowing things down.

You would know that the HD loves to work on 1-2 things at a time, when you are asking it to do allot of things.

Yep, I can turn the Prog off if you like, but It will always Jump up and do a Check if its needed. I have seen it STILL do important updates If you dont Stop it from running.

So, I would prefer that it Act, after the HD has calmed down abit. Waiting 5+ minutes for an Unannounced update, is kinda stupid.
Even in the past, Iv seen the update program do its OWN thing and interrupt things while loading and checking ghe net.

Hello ECA,

Thanks for your reply.

My suggestions may not be the best solution. I'm not an expert in windows but the issue is more related with windows team and I'm responsible for WSUS. Perhaps we could post your issue into windows team to see whether the other engineers from windows team to have any other comments. Please post your questions into the following link.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

In my opinion, the windows update is aimed at keeping your device running smoothly and securely. So it will try to install the latest updates as soon so possible by Automatic Updates. Of course, we could configure the Automatic Updates to the Manual Mode not Automatic Mode. Here is a reference picture for you:

In addition, we could set the active hours to prevent the clients from downloading and installing updates in the working hours. There are two methods for you:

  1. Set it on the client manually:

  2. Configure the Turn off auto-restart for updates during active hours policy

Hope the above will be helpful.

Have a nice day.

Regards,
Rita
