FSLogix Profile Failed to open virtual disk

Hi Everbody,

I have a very odd issue with one of the FSLogix profiles. When I checked the logs I am seeing the errors below.

1)Failed to open virtual disk (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)

2)Open Vhd(x) failed file is locked.

3) Regedit error code 20(There is an error importing registry data)

Other users' registry data are fine but only one user registry data is missing. The user has full permission for the disk file and added to the group policy properly. Do you have any idea how to handle this annoying problem?

If I even change the user Regedit key manually, the change is being removed during sign-in. Is there anyone who has the same problem?

Hello @ProIT-9341 ,

Where do you store the fslogix profile?

Please try to reboot the machine in the off working time, and login to the machine with admin account to delete the user's vhd; and then ask the user to login again to see whether the new vhd can be attached or not.

Thanks for the reply.

We have a dedicated server in which all users' profiles are being stored there.

I have already tried to reboot the server but it did not work.

Furthermore, This is for only one user and other users are working fine. There are some missing Regedit keys in the user registry(user profile path etc..). When I change them manually it is being changed again during sign-in.

Did you log into the dedicated server with admin account to delete the user's vhd?

No, I did not. I can not remove the user`s vhd as there are important files.
