Licensed mailbox shared via permissions, sent items copy

Hi

When you share shared mailbox via permissions, you have the option to copy sent emails to shared mailbox's Sent Mail folder.

But when you have an mailbox with license (exchange online p1) and you share the mailbox via permissions (meaning you do not add the mailbox account to outlook using password), you do not have the option in mailbox settings to copy all sent emails to that mailbox Sent Mail folder. So when a user has received permissions to use that licensed mailbox via permissions (Not via password), all mails sent by that user on behalf of that mailbox, goes to that users Sent Mail folder.

How do we get all mails sent, on behalf of this lisensed mailbox shared via permissions, get copied also to the Sent Mail folder of this licensed mailbox?

This setting does not depend on how you are accessing the mailbox, it's configured server-side, either for Send As and/or Send on behalf of permissions. You will have to toggle it via PowerShell though:

Set-Mailbox user@domain.com -MessageCopyForSendOnBehalfEnabled $true

Note that there is a difference in the sending behavior in Outlook, depending on how the mailbox is added there. But this is with respect to Send As/Send on behalf being used, as long as you have the necessary permissions and the setting above is configured, send messages will be copied.
