Timing of Update program.

I find it a problem when win10 starts, and it Checks for updates, and then takes control and delays windows startup.
This really affects HD systems. I can get my system up in about 2 min, and the HD settling down, but When Update takes over we can wait ALONG time for 100% HD access to mellow out abit.

What would be nice is if the Update prog would delay until the HD calms down abit. Or even waits for the Full loadup to finish.

ALONG with that would be nice to have a Notice/warning/acknowledgement That its happening. EVEn IF we cant stop it happening.

I hope you understand the problems that EVERYTHING WANTS to start with windows. Do you remember 2-4 chat progs from Excite, yahoo, MSN, others all trying to start at the same time? Its the same problems. TRY to get the companies to STOP needing/wanting to load at startup.

Windows loads pretty fast, when Everyone leaves the loadup alone. would be really cool to have a 2nd startup file/bat that happens After windows loads.
Thanks

At the same token, I could also suggest that you replace the HDD with a new-aged SSD and your timing issues will go away. Yes, you CAN start services up later [Automatic (Delayed Start)] but those are only Windows Services.

With a decent system with an SSD, you're up to being productive in ~ 20-30 seconds. With a regular hard drive, you're still looking at 2-4 minutes depending. That's the difference with the speed of IOPS with a HDD (maximum these days of 100 IOPS) vs SDD (minimum these days of 50,000 IOPS). There really is no comparison.

Try to disable all unnecessary software and services during Windows Startup
How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Besides, set up Active Hours for Windows Update.
In my opinion, the best method for your timing issue is using a SSD to replace current HDD then reinstall OS, all process will be smooth. I used HDD before and my device cost about 1 min to startup time, after I change the hard disk to a 1 tb SSD, my startup time becomes 10 seconds.

As SSD get better, and run cooler, I might consider it.
Im from the old school and watched all this tech for years, I had a bubble memory device, Which you can still get THAT tech.(if you can afford it) and its DURABLE AS HELL Freezing over.
While everything else needed/wanted STARTS at the same time.
I have a mobo that the audio corp LET windows Build the driver, and Failed even after 6 months, and sent it back to the Sound creator to Build it properly. 6+ months of a 2 star rating on the MS site. talk about fail.
Find me a way to tell the Code NOT to take over the system and Fight All of the startup code.
Tell it to Check at a certain time, generally when Im sleeping, I have to have the computer ON. And in this area with 60mph winds, and Power fluctuations.. NOT ON YOUR LIFE.
Unless you want to buy and replace the machine I have, After it gets a Spike.

For your scenario, you could open a request ticket with Microsoft for deep research and remote analysis, they may give you more ideas based on your demand and current situation.

Wow,
Then I goto another forum/site with a great idea that should have been done years ago and would Ease older computer users.

And a Forum with a 1000 Character MAX? really sucks. 200 5 letter words?
