Hm, interesting error message. I have seen it before - but not for a connection on the same machine, and certainly not during setup.

Silly question: you have not made your laptop into a domain controller, have you?

To be honest, I don't even know how would I even made it into domain controller.... I'm a student, so I'm still getting to know my way around databases

The error:
Error description: Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Integrated authentication.

Is almost always related to the login running the installation is not in the local administrator group.

Hi @78166480,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I saw your OS version is Microsoft Windows 10 Education, may I ask is it your personal computer? Or you install SQL Server in school's computer? The error description shows that the login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Integrated authentication. This issue may related to the login.

If it's your personal computer, I suggest you that follow the steps to Uninstall SQL Server, including the SQL Server components. And then download SQL Server again, use a local login to install SQL Server which have full permission to access to registry keys. About component error code 0x84BB0001, please refer to this blog to get more information.

Best regards,
Carrin
