Hello,
We are in the process of installing Microsoft R Open 4.0.2, along with RStudio 1.4.1, in our environment using VMware Application Volumes. This process provisions an application on a virtual disk which is then attached to a user's virtual desktop as installed in C:\Program Files... We set three custom library paths, a path in the user's home share, the library path with C:\Program Files\Microsoft... and the a shared drive.
When setting the path to C:\Program Files... as presented by Application Volumes, MS R Open will only recognize the literal disk path. This is a mount point for the virtual disk with a path of C:\SnapVolumes{GUID FOR APPLCIATION STACK}... While this does not appear to impact functionality the fear is it may interrupt some of our R user's work flows depending on how they've coded their work. Being a System Admin and non-R user, I am not sure my smoke testing is adequate enough to know that for sure. I have reached out for assistance from our R user community internally for some assistance here.
My question for this community - is there a way to get R to recognize the relative path of the mount in lieu of the literal disk path? The application doesn't recognize any mounts attached to the virtual desktops in this manner. I have reached out to VMware for input; it was stated since everything mounts and functions they believe this is something within the application itself.
Thank you in advance.
