How to stop an update from reinstalling

Hi,

A recent update breaks printing in our organization. All the pictures now have a white line through them when printing using the Windows print wizard. They are ok from word etc.. I want to be able to block an update permanently until a fix is released. I've tried patch kb5001567 which i suppose to fix the blue screen error but that doesn't work for the white/blank bar issue. Obviously I can't go round and update every machine to 20H2 manually so just being able to uninstall the bad update and prevent it from reinstalling would be beneficial.

Hope you can help.

Cheers
Mick

It is recommended not to stop or disable any update.
However, in case you have to do this, then take a look at:

Actually not all the updates are required. So you can select the updates manually and install accordingly.

Hi Mick,

The latest update helping our device run efficiently and stay protected, since KB5001567 doesn’t fix printing issue, you could try the latest KB5001330.

If the latest build Windows 10 still have printing issue, please refer to this link to pause update then wait for new updates.

Pause updates for up to 35 days and Use Group Policy to disable Windows Update are common methods

Hello, Thanks for this. I can confirm if you have 20H2 installed along with update KB5001330 then the blank/white mark through the pages stops. Works fine. If i have a machine with 2020 and update KB5001330 then the error still remains. Is there a way to force the feature update 20H2 rather than clicking windows update 2 million times? Many thanks.
