Intune - Autoenrolled IPhone with DEP and VPP Token - Problems with pre-installed Apps

Hello everybody,

I have a problem understanding Microsoft Intune or Device Management. I ordered a DEP device from a distributor and established all tokens and links to Intune.

The device is installed and assigned. I chose the company portal as the method. This works great too!

Now my problem with the pre-installed apps like Facetime, Contacts, Mail, etc. A cloud is displayed next to them and they cannot be installed. I cannot purchase these apps as a VPP either.

How can I remove or install this without an AppleID?

Is there a howto here? Or can someone give me a tip, please?

Thank you a lot!

How about adding pre-installed apps as Windows Store apps to the VPP token and assign to users? Either Facetime or Contact can be found in Apple Store and should be assigned to a volume-purchased app.

By the way, Apple recently changed from using the Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) to using Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE). The Microsoft Intune user interface doesn't currently reflect that change. Currently, you'll still see Device Enrollment Program in the Intune portal. Wherever you see references to DEP, Intune now uses Automated Device Enrollment.

Hello CiciWu2-MSFT,

thank you a lot for your answer. Of course I mean the new business manager from Apple at "business.apple.com". I can also find the VPP Store there. This does not include the Facetime apps, etc. There I can find the company portal and other apps which I have already added and which I have synced with the Windows Store via Intune!

This was my first idea do add the apps to vpp :-(

Greetz!

Can I know if you choose hide or show in Setup Assistant Customization tab? If you select show, it will give the user the option to set up iMessage and FaceTime. For iOS/iPadOS 9.0 and later.

Thank you a lot!

I set to "Company Portal" in my settings with Company Portal in Single App Mode until authentication. I dont want that my users can use a AppleID :-)
