Block public Store (Windows Pro Education devices)

Hi!

I have problems with the "RequirePrivateStoreOnly" policy, when I check the monitor in Endpoint I see that all devices are "Not Applicable".

I saw that policy doc:

ApplicationManagement/RequirePrivateStoreOnly

Windows Edition / Supported?
Home / NO
Pro / NO
Business / NO
Enterprise / YES
Education / YES

And all our devices have WINDOWS PRO EDUCATION.

The questions I have..
· Windows Pro Education is it considerate PRO or EDUCATION?
· If that policy doesn't works with our Windows version (...), is possible to do it with another way??

We manage some schools and is so important to block the public store with all games that have inside :) thanks in advance!

anonymous user Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

For this issue, I have done some research. I find that Windows Pro Education builds on Windows 10 Pro in the following article. So, “ApplicationManagement/RequirePrivateStoreOnly” is not supported in Windows Pro Education devices.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/education/windows/change-to-pro-education

From Intune's point of view, currently, there is no way to make it. During my research, I also find other customer who has the same requested posted in Intune uservoice as below. We can vote and post our detailed request here. This is a place to collect customers' requirements and problems.

Thanks for understanding and have a nice day.

Hi!! thanks for all the info, I tried to do it with Powershell script through Intune and is not applicable... it seems that we have to wait for a Micosoft update... at moment, three more votes from my part in uservoice's page :)

Keep in mind here though that this isn't a technical issue or shortcoming, it's a marketing choice of which features are enabled or not in each SKU so there's nothing technically to solve here. If this is something you need for your org, then you need to license the SKU/edition that contains the functionality.

Additionally, it's unrelated to Intune as this restriction is in Win 10 itself so it doesn't matter how you try to change the configuration, it's simply not available in the SKU/edition you are using by choice.

Edit: Note that I accidentally posted this reply previously with the wrong account and so deleted that comment and am re-posting the same comment. In the process of doing this, I also accidentally deleted anonymous user's reply.

To clarify here, are you trying to block the private store or the public store? The policy you are using blocks the public store. There's no way to block the private store.

Sorry! the title was wrong, I refer to "block public store", thanks!
